A note to educators:
If you are using this webpage, please Complete this form and check the "Basic Electricity" button I would like your feedback on this page so improvements can be made.
This topic is intended to give students in the 3rd to 5th grade level an introduction to the concepts of Basic Electricity. Series and Parallel circuits, their characteristics, current flow, and switches will be discussed. The material is presented as a series of experiments students may conduct that will illustrate these concepts. In order to conduct these projects, teachers should obtain the following materials ahead of time and make the preliminary preparations. (There is nothing more aggravating than trying to hold wires in place when a drop of solder done ahead of time would prevent that grief!)
As you go through these experiments, the basic concept of each is presented. In many cases you can click the Wizard for a more in-depth explanation intended for the more advanced student.
Material presented here is © 2007 - J.Brown and may not be reproduced for distribution or used in any derivitive work. An exception is made for educators who wish to make copies for use in their classroom. They may freely distribute copies to their own students who are utilizing this project for their own personal use.
Thank You for your interest in this Project !
